Light Fleet Management
LFMS
Offline-first fleet management for mines that can't justify enterprise pricing — or enterprise complexity. Configurable cycles, open dispatch, digital forms, and mesh networking on standard Android tablets.
What LFMS Is
Fleet Management Without
the Enterprise Price Tag.

Small-to-mid-size open-pit and underground mines run on paper, radios, and whiteboards — not because they want to, but because the alternative costs $150K–$500K+ for enterprise fleet management systems like CAT MineStar or Modular/Pitram. That pricing assumes massive operations with hundreds of trucks and the IT infrastructure to match.

LFMS is purpose-built for the mines that enterprise vendors ignore. It runs on $350 Samsung Galaxy Tab Active5 tablets — IP68 rugged, glove-touch capable, sunlight-readable — with zero infrastructure requirements. No Wi-Fi access points. No cellular towers. No server rooms. Tablets communicate directly with each other via Wi-Fi Direct mesh networking.

The result: a fully digital fleet management system that deploys in weeks instead of months, runs on hardware your operators can drop in mud, and costs a fraction of what the enterprise vendors charge — without sacrificing the cycle tracking, dispatch, and reporting capabilities your operation actually needs.

Zero Infrastructure

Wi-Fi Direct mesh networking. Tablets talk to each other peer-to-peer. No access points, no repeaters, no cellular. Equipment moves, the network moves with it. Works in open pits, underground headings, and everywhere in between — anywhere two tablets can see each other.

Any Equipment, Any OEM

Works with CAT, Komatsu, Sandvik, Epiroc, Liebherr, Hitachi — any manufacturer, any model. LFMS is not locked to a single OEM ecosystem. Mount a tablet, configure the cycle, and the equipment is online. Mixed fleets are the default, not an expensive add-on.

Core Modules
Five Modules. One Platform.

Every module is production-ready out of the box but fully configurable to match your operation — equipment types, workflows, form templates, and dispatch logic are all configuration, not custom code.

Configurable Cycle Engine JSON-defined state machines for any equipment type — trucks, shovels, LHDs, drills, graders, dozers. New workflows are configuration, not code. Automatic state transitions via GPS geofences, BLE beacons, and operator tap. Every state change is timestamped and logged.
  • JSON-defined state machines per equipment type
  • GPS geofence and BLE beacon auto-transitions
  • Operator tap override with reason codes
  • New equipment types added in minutes, not sprints
Open Dispatch "Bring Your Own Algorithm." Three built-in dispatch algorithms — Nearest Shovel, Balance Utilization, and Crusher-Aware — plus a documented API for custom algorithms via SQL, REST, or stored procedures. Mine engineering teams own their dispatch logic, not the vendor.
  • Three built-in algorithms ready to deploy
  • Documented API for custom dispatch logic
  • SQL, REST, or stored procedure integration
  • Your engineering team owns the algorithm
Digital Forms Configurable form builder replacing all paper: pre-start inspections, BBS observations, incident reports, workplace exams, maintenance job cards. Critical fail on a pre-start automatically locks the equipment from dispatch — no manual intervention, no workarounds.
  • Pre-start, BBS, incident, workplace exam templates
  • Critical fail auto-locks equipment from dispatch
  • Photo and signature capture on-device
  • Offline-first — syncs when connectivity returns
Mine Simulator Discrete-event simulation on a graph-based road network using the same dispatch algorithms as production. Test fleet configurations, compare dispatch strategies, and run Monte Carlo analysis before making real-world changes. Prove the ROI before you spend the capital.
  • Graph-based road network modeling
  • Same dispatch algorithms as production
  • Monte Carlo fleet configuration analysis
  • What-if scenarios without production risk
Maintenance Management Auto-created breakdown work orders from sensor alerts and operator reports. PM tracking by calendar, hours, or cycles. Spare parts inventory with minimum stock alerts. Full equipment history and cost tracking from day one.
  • Auto-created work orders from alerts
  • PM tracking: calendar, hours, or cycles
  • Spare parts inventory and min-stock alerts
  • Equipment history and cost tracking
How It's Different
Built for Mines,
Not Adapted from Logistics.

LFMS isn't a logistics app with a mining skin. It was designed from the ground up around how mines actually operate — shift handovers, mixed fleets, no connectivity, and operators in gloves.

vs. Enterprise FMS

$350/tablet vs $1K–$5K proprietary hardware. Software-only on standard Android devices. Weeks to deploy vs months of integration. No proprietary network infrastructure. No multi-year lock-in contracts.

Enterprise FMS is built for 200-truck operations with dedicated IT staff. LFMS is built for the 15–60 equipment sites that need digital fleet management without the enterprise overhead.

vs. Paper & Radio

Digital cycle records with automatic timestamps. Automated tonnage tracking from load to dump. Shift reports generated automatically — no end-of-shift paperwork. Instant visibility for management without calling the pit.

Every cycle, every form, every dispatch decision is recorded. The data that was invisible on paper becomes the foundation for continuous improvement.

vs. Locked Ecosystems

Open dispatch API. Mixed fleet support across every OEM. No manufacturer lock-in. Your engineering team owns the dispatch algorithms — not the vendor.

When you buy a CAT system, you run CAT's way. LFMS gives you the tools and the API — your team decides how dispatch works, what cycles look like, and which algorithms run your operation.
